Brinkman becomes Royal Brinkman!
’s-Gravenzande – As of 16 May 2013, the three separate Brinkman companies are to continue under one name: Royal Brinkman. All companies operating under the Royal Brinkman umbrella have the same principal objective: to be a reliable supplier, advisor and contractor with a single mission, a single vision and a single name for the horticultural sector.

Brinkman has consisted of three separate companies for approximately ten years: Brinkman Agro, Brinkman Tuinbouw Techniek and Brinkman International. The division was considered appropriate at the time, but today’s philosophy requires repositioning under a single trademark. Royal Brinkman is the new name under which all Brinkman companies operate.

Royal Brinkman
Brinkman acquired the title Royal in 1985, and has since used the name Koninklijke Brinkman in the Netherlands and Royal Brinkman abroad. The separate names for the domestic and foreign markets and the three separate company names Agro, Tuinbouw Techniek and International belong to the past. It is now time to present Brinkman under a single name throughout the world: Royal Brinkman.

All three companies will continue to be separated internally on paper, but a single trademark will now be used in all communications. For the Dutch operations of Royal Brinkman, the accent will be on reliable deliveries, with a focus on temperate growth. The technical activities of Royal Brinkman continue to be essential for the Dutch market. Technical projects will be implemented more on a cost-plus basis; with a flexible workforce. One of the spear points for the international activities of Royal Brinkman is working with dealer networks and 'local for local'.

Shading agents
35

An important subject for growers in greenhouses is light, because plants won’t grow without light. Too much light can cause damage to the crop, therefore most growers use a shading agent on their greenhouse. Another opportunity is using light as optimal as possible.

Shading
To prevent the crop from being damaged, a shading agent is sprayed on the greenhouse roof to reduce the intensity of the light.

Diffuse light
The next generation greenhouse coatings, D-FUSE vegetable and D-FUSE floriculture will make the light diffuse. With D-FUSE applied, the light becomes diffused as it enters the greenhouse, resulting in deeper penetration inside the crop. Because of this the photosynthesis process is much more efficient, resulting in better growth and higher yields.
